The movie is about Prot (Kevin Spacey), an ordinary guy, exept for the fact that he is in a mental hospital and is convinced that he is from another planet called K-Pax. Prot is so cheerful and confident that he influences the other patients. Now they want to go back with him to his planet. The descriptions Prot gives of his planet even makes his psychiatrists doubt in the reality of the world he lives in.

Is Prot mentally disturbed (crazy) or is he going ‘’home’’ in the summer ?

Monsters, Inc.

The creators of Toy Story have switched to monsters in this computer-animated movie. Monster, Inc. is the top scare company in monster world. The number one scarer of children is Sulley, a huge, intimidating monster with blue fur, large purple spots and horns. You thought scaring children is an easy job, not accourding to the monster. They believe that children are toxic and contact with them would be catastrophic. As in Toy Story the movie has an entertaining plot with very interesting characters like the crab-like CEO, serpent-haired receptionist and a sarcastic chameleon monster.

If al those Dramas and Romances are getting a bit to much for you, Monster, Inc. will be a refreshing change.

Thirteen Ghosts

If animated versions of monsters are not for you, Thirteen Ghosts you might like more. A family inherits a huge house, as you guessed, it is haunted. The family gets trapped in their house by shifting walls. Soon they are joined by a ghost hunter who is more than a bit out of the ordinary. They realize that the house is a maze which could lead to their salvation.

"DIT was 'n flippen cool boek!" Sò het Estè Fourie 10A1 laat blyk, nadat sy die spannende jeugroman, Geraamtes dra nie klere nie, gelees het. Kink na iemand wat weet. Geen wonder hierdie boek is bekroon met die Goue Sanlam-prys vir Jeuglektuur 2000 nie. Tog was saampraat nog nooit sinvol sonder agtergrond nie, so lees verder en oordeel later vanmiddag, wanneer jy biblioteek toe gaan op soek na Jan Vermeulen se nuutse skeppinge.

Oud-polisieman, Kapt. Minaar, pleit onskuldig by sy familie, maar ander mede-polisiemanne getuig dat die beklaagde, wel skuldig is aan moord. Dinge loop egter heeltemal skeef, wanneer sy dogter, Claudette, betrokke raak en onbewustelik haarself in gevaar stel. Sy het goeie bedoelings gehad, maar nie van beter geweet nie. Nou is iemand anders in beheer van haar lewe. Hy wil haar doodmaak, tensy haar pa sy opdragte uitvoer.

Die skokkende realiteit word duidelik en eerlik in hierdie verhaal uitgebeeld, saam met 'n tikkie politiek, persoonlike struikelblokke, 'n tydelike herlewing van die apertheidsjare en dodelike geheime. Jy besef ook die ironie van rassisme en kom agter dat die lewe te kort is om rassiste te akkommodeer. Want skuld en verraad, maar ook liefde lê nie net aan een kant van die politieke spektrum nie, maar in die groewe van elke mens se hart.
